Job Description

Be part of our mission to disrupt the healthcare and democratize data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a Sr. Director of Sales for Latin America (LATAM) to join the Sales team, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

As part of the Sales Management team, you report directly to the VP Sales, North America and lead a team of sales representatives within your territory. In this strategic role and in line with the revenue and performanceobjectives, you will develop the sales strategy and drive performance for the offerings and products to hospitals and private laboratories.

You manage a team of 7 Sales Managers and a network of 8 channel partners to whon you provide feedback, support, and coaching. You are also involved in the hiring process to create the most performing team.

The Sr. Director (Sales), LATAM will also be appointed as director of our Brazilian branch in Sao Paulo, Brazil to drive all general and administrative operations.

Key responsibilities:

As a Sr Director Sales, LATAM you responsibilities are (but not limited to):

    Builds sales plans, assigns territories and sales goals for the LATAM/Carabeen region
    Develop strategies to obtain sales leads and prospects for maximal market penetration, and sell new and existing "products" to customers and prospects
    Reviews progress of sales opportunities (opportunity pipeline)
    Constantly monitors routine usage by customers and takes action when needed
    Monitors the achievement of sales and revenue objectives by Regional Sales Manager
    Reports sales activity and progress in the region and provides sales projections to the VP Sales North America
    Through regular assessment in coordination with the Director of Subject Matter Experts (SME), assign trainings necessary to continuously grow the team expertise to reach or exceed sales targets.
    Involved in the hiring and dismissal process to create the most performing team
    Regularly travels to meet key prospects and customers and ensure there is high customer satisfaction in the region
    Directly manage a carefully selected list of Strategic Accounts (customers and prospects) and institutional actors (consortiums, hospital groups, insurances, pharmas)
    Evaluates performance of sales staff in region on a quarterly basis


    Master Degree in Computing, Life Science or a related field within a well-regarded institution; PhD will be an advantage.
    Minimum of 5-10 years Sales experience (preferably Consultative Sales) in Life Science, Diagnostic or Medtech industry
    Proven experience as a director of sales and in managing a team of sales representatives
    Proven experience in managing a network of distributors in Latin America
    Strong knowledge of taxation, logistics and importation procedures for Life Science in Brazil
    Capable of addressing the technical and clinical ecosystem of genomic and multimodal laboratory testing through a network of trusted contacts in Latin America
    Excellent communication skills and good Leadership skills
    Strategic thinking and strong customer focus
    Diplomatic and able to work under tight deadlines and extra hours if needed on assignments
    Ability to balance multiple tasks and coordinate with different organizational departments working in different time zones
