Job Description

In our journey to impact on patients lives, we are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our growing Legal team in Bidart, France. It is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a company that is ambitious, successful, international, and on a world-changing mission.

As a Senior Legal Counsel | Commercial, you will support the business on a variety of MedTech-related legal and commercial matters. Your role involves:

    managing a range of international commercial contract activities, including drafting and negotiating contracts; aligning contracts with external and internal guidelines, policies and procedures; keeping the company’s contract database up to date + handling the templates in the system; and providing legal support related to public tenders;
    running in-depth research and providing legal advice on commercial, healthcare, and employment law related matters;
    offering legal support to the French operations, including corporate and employment law matters and other projects with legal implications;
    tracking laws and regulations developments in countries in which the company operates;
    drafting internal policies and procedures;
    training cross-functional teams on legal requirements;
    managing outside counsel and dispute resolutions.

Requirements

    Qualified lawyer (preferably in France);
    5 to 8 years of experience (post qualification) in commercial and life sciences/healthcare related matters at a medical device, biotechnology or pharmaceutical company and/or law firm supporting such, is a must.
    Experience in complex commercial transactions related to technology, as well as legal expertise in corporate and employment matters is a plus;
    Good business acumen and an ability to target legal advice to the issues presented, quickly and concisely;
    Excellent oral and written communication, legal drafting and negotiating skills;
    Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects;
    Team player with a positive mindset, who embraces collaboration with cross-functional teams in a global business;
    Business-minded, solution-oriented, and “can-do” attitude;
    Self-starter;
    Strong ability to flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented organization;
    Fluency in spoken and written English, French and another language an asset.
