The Strategic Market Insights Director has overall responsibility for all aspects of delivering market insights to inform business objectives. As a key support function, you work closely with Product Management and Marketing to inform product strategies that will improve SOPHiA Genetics competitiveness.
Responsible for monitoring marketplace for events relevant to SOPHiA Genetics i.e. M&A activities, partnerships, collaborations, new technologies, company reporting (eg. financial, JPM, etc), new regulations, changes to policy or reimbursement, etc
Timely reporting of key market events and potential implications for SOPHiA in a clear and concise report or presentation
Responsible for keeping the Product Managers and senior leaders updated on competitor activities through legitimate sources, congresses, etc.
Conduct deeper analysis and competitive intelligence on key competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, marketing strategies and commercial activities
Lead competitor workshops to inform product or portfolio strategies
Maintain regular analytics of marketing/digital marketing campaigns and draw insights to inform future marketing activities, customer targeting and promotional mix/channels ROI
Directly responsible for developing and executing market research projects in line with product/disease area business objectives. This includes creating briefing documents, soliciting competitive bids and overseeing agencies/consultants through to completion
Responsible for analysis of market research projects results and presenting meaningful insights in the form of reports or presentations
Supports marketing planning process by informing situational analysis including market sizing, competitor share and forecasting
Higher degree in life science or a related discipline
10+ in diagnostics, biotech, pharma industry, including 5+ years experience in data analytics
Deep understanding and experience working in the US healthcare market is an advantage
Fluent in English
Statistics and data analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively as a support function to Product Management and Marketing
Mastery at summarizing and displaying data to highlight insights
Expertise in oral and written communication skills
Extensive experience in both primary and secondary market research
Extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative market research
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Sunshine Act
Ability to design analytical approach to address business questions
