Director of Employee Experience and Cultural Values at Mammoth Biosciences

The Director of Employee Experience and Cultural Values will help support our growth by establishing HR leadership, talent development, and engagement in our organization.  As the first formal HR hire, the director will provide a critical partnership with the leadership team to scale our values and culture, create and execute growth strategies, and support the employee’s needs.   This individual will represent everyone within the company, develop strategy, drive execution, and maintain a passionate culture within a fast-growing startup, with a key focus on retention and team development. This role has large opportunities for risk-taking and innovation for self-directed individuals passionate about helping others succeed. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Play a pivotal role in scaling a fast-growing biotech startup’s culture; partner with cross-functional teams on employee relations, change management, people strategy and employee engagement as the company scales.
    • Build and implement a talent development strategy to enable a culture of high performance and accountability
    • Partner with the leadership team to define and drive strategy for talent management and development that supports and accelerates the company's growth
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by providing coaching and guidance on people management best practices
    • Drive HR infrastructure projects, such as vendor and partner selection, deployment, and management
    • Provide expertise on career planning, people development, performance management, coaching and mentoring, benefits, compensation and rewards, employee retention, employee relations, employee engagement, and culture development
    • Build a recruiting program that attracts the best talent for roles that are highly competitive
    • Ensure company's core values are incorporated into all hiring, retention and people decision-making
    • Develop and lead diversity and inclusion program

Minimum Requirements - Education or Experience

    • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience, specifically with organizations mindful of developing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
    • Bachelor’s Degree required and PHR certification preferred
    • Strong preference for experience with life science organizations, specifically with engineering and scientific functions
    • Experience with employee relations, compensation management, performance management, employee engagement, leadership coaching, learning and development programs, total rewards

Knowledge and Skills

    • Curiosity to learn and create new processes in a fast-moving company 
    • High comfort level with data-driven decision making
    • Extremely proficient with office technology and business software; able to masterfully administer cloud HR platforms
