Description

We are seeking a Scientist with expertise in CRISPR tool development and bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will also have direct experience with protein engineering and molecular biology. A strong background in protein biochemistry and nucleic acid biochemistry is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading, managing and collaborating across the team as needed, with demonstrated ability to prioritize projects, agendas and time to accomplish assigned goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, direct, and execute CRISPR biochemistry and bioinformatics based projects
  • Engage in a leadership role and guide technical areas towards making decisions involving designing, performing, and troubleshooting research experiments
  • Think creatively about diagnostic and CRISPR technologies

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in relevant field and 2+ yrs relevant research experience in industry or academia
  • Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, protein biochemistry and nucleic acid biochemistry
  • Ability and enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing new techniques
  • Exceptional communication and data analysis skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, hard working and curious individual with the ability to think innovatively about difficult research problems
  • Motivates others to do their best; celebrates differences; team-oriented

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with CRISPR-Cas gene editing and screens in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes
  • Experience with high-throughput protein engineering and synthetic biology in prokaryotes
  • Experience with programming (Python, R, etc. ) with emphasis on biological data
  • Well versed in CRISPR-Cas and diagnostic literature
